Pop Art Canvas

Picture
In the art classroom we learned a lot about pop culture. Consequently we learned about pop art, its most important artists and work. The project in the image to the left, is the Joker from batman the dark night, and at first, we looked at a picture we wanted and draw a scale on in, and then did the same in the canvas. We draw it with pencil, and paint it with opposite colors and shadows, like pop art. when we finish we had a popular character in your favorite colors.

The pop art canvas was certainly complicated in many parts of the project. In my opinion, my strengths on this project were the drawing in pencil step, while the hardest part was putting the shadows in the appropriate places of the drawing. knowing were are the dark places and where where the light places was certainly a challenge. the card that the Joker is holding was also difficult due to the size of the drawing and the stencils.

Semester Exam project

Picture
The project shown at the picture on the left is the last project of the year in the art classroom. It is the Semester exam project. it consists on creating any part of your body in plaster, let it dry and  take it off when it is strong. after doing this, we had to paint it and add objects to it so it creates a personal project with the things you like. the picture to the left is the project but not yet finish.

Because everybody is different, we all have strengths and weaknesses. i am certain that my strenght in this projects was creating the hand in plaster, while my main weakness was deciding what objects to use in the project. doubtless it is a project which i will never forget.

Juan Fran Sketch

Picture
The reason i am posting this drawing in Weebly is because i am quite proud of it. The picture to the left was ment to be my uncle Juan Francisco Davalos, i find really hard to draw realistic faces on pencil without scales to help me do it. it isnt too realistic but it is really close to my uncles face, it looks like a cartoon. it was done in pencil wich i used to shadow it and do the few wrinkles more accurate in the right places.

The thing about sketches is that they are done without any guidelines and advices. They are done by memory and its all your skill with your pencil in one page. with general sketches i think my strenghs are definitly the shadowing and location of the wrinkles, even sometimes the nose. but i feel i lack of ability of drawing the details more carefully as well as the proportion.
